The Good News And The Bad About Baldness Cures On The Internet.

There is probably as many as 100 million men or more in the US who would love to find a baldness cure. Somewhere around 50 percent of men, it is estimated, will suffer from a degree of baldness in their lives and most of them would love to reverse their thinning hair. With numbers this big baldness cures abound on the Internet. But how do you find a good cure for baldness?

Baldness cures of any type are not cheap. For this reason the market for hair loss treatments is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and where there is a market that size there will be many many products available. However that does not mean that they all work or even that they are all safe for anyone to use.

The Internet is unregulated. Anyone can design a website and sell a baldness cure without any requirement that it be demonstrated to work or that it be demonstrated to be safe to use. On the internet it’s a serious case of buyer beware.

Buying baldness cures on the Internet can be an easy way to get ripped off. There’s a good chance they won’t grow more hair on your head and they may well be harmful to your health and wallet. So should you just forget about finding a good cure for hair loss?

Not at all. We have an organization whose job it is to regulate these things. The FDA has approved two products to use as men’s hair loss treatments. Both these products have been demonstrated to the satisfaction of the FDA to work to counter male balding, including in cases of male pattern baldness, because that causes over 90 percent of men’s balding.

We can fairly assume that if the FDA is satisfied that these products work as baldness cures there is sufficient evidence that this is the case. In fact there are scientific studies demonstrating that these products work as a cure for baldness. Whilst that may be the case they will not work for everybody and no product works as a baldness cure for everybody.

The FDA has approved minoxidil and finasteride as men’s hair loss treatments. Finasteride is marketed as Propecia and is not approved for use in cases of women’s hair loss because it has been demonstrated to cause some serious side-effects for women. It can also have some side-effects for men including loss of libido.

Minoxidil is approved as a hair loss treatments for men and women and is the only product so approved. The current wisdom is that it works because it improves the flow of blood to hair follicles which increases the flow of nutrients so that the hair follicle can absorb more nutrition. In cases of male pattern baldness the actual hair thinning is caused by a male hormone which restricts the flow of nutrients to the hair follicle so this would seem to make sense.

Whilst minoxidil has been shown to work as a baldness cure on its own one company has taken this one step further and released a product that combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients. It would also make sense that more blood flow to the hair follicle that allows the follicle to absorb more nutrients would work better if all those nutrients were available in the blood.

It seems that this approach is more effective than simply using minoxidil by itself.

Remember, whilst there may be dozens or hundreds of baldness cures on the Internet, none of them are approved by the FDA except for finasteride and minoxidil. Minoxidil alone is approved for both men and women.

Visit my website to find out more about a product that combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients to increase the likelihood of hair regrowth.
