Lose Weight Fast With The HCG Diet

There is a new diet sensation sweeping across the nation and it is only a matter of time before it goes global. HCG, a fertility hormone, has now been proven to be very effective in aiding in massive amounts of weight loss when coupled with a low calorie diet. When other diets are pretending to be the real deal, the HCG diet actually does melt away the pounds.

HCG is an acronym that stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. The hormone occurs naturally in both men and women, but it is most common in pregnant women. Typically, HCG is used as a fertility drug. Injections of HCG can be used to help women who have trouble ovulating or to help men increase their sperm count. This same hormone, which can be produced naturally or synthetically, can actually be used as a dietary aid.

HCG naturally works with the hypothalamus gland. This is the gland in the body that is responsible for things such as emotion and controlling your body fat. This hormone will send signals to the hypothalamus gland allowing it to release body fat from storage and to be used as a source of energy. When this hormone is not present, that signal does not go through.

Once this body fat is released, the body can burn it for energy. So, when HCG intake is combined with a low calorie diet, around 500 calories per day, the body is forced to burn excess fat for energy. In this way, HCG advocates believe an average dieter can expect to burn between half a pound and three pounds per day.

Many diets that have low calorie counts are not very intelligent diets. They will be low calorie, but also the wrong types of foods (remember the cookie diet?). When a diet is this low in calories, it is essential that is contains the other nutrients that the body needs in order to perform. However, even though this diet is packed with the right nutrients, it is still not recommended to do cycles back to back.

After a single cycle has been completed, the dieter is then permitted to go back to normal and healthy eating habits. The key here is to continue to monitor daily calorie intake, usually about 2,000 calories a day, and to make sure that they do not go back to eating the things that forced them to have to diet in the first place.

If someone is looking to lose a lot weight quickly, the HCG diet is the perfect plan. They get to eat their own food, do not have to exercise and will see results immediately. After the cycle is completed, they will have learned a healthier way to eat and control their cravings. While they will obviously eat more than the 500 calories that they had during the diet, they will have a better understanding of the foods that they should be eating.
