How You Can Increase Volume For Thinning Hair

Unfortunately there are just two FDA approved treatments that tackle the problem of thinning hair and hair loss, they are Minoxidil and Finasteride. These can thicken, regrow and stop hair loss but with varying degrees of success.
Apart from medically treating thinning hair there are many ways to cosmetically add volume to thinning and create the appearance at least of a thicker head of hair with more density and volume.
Shampoos and Conditioners can add volume and density to hair. There are lots of shampoos and conditioners specially made for hair that is thinning. The right shampoo with a conditioner that is meant to be left it can add this kind of density. They contain agents that thicken individual hairs and diameter to hair. Similarly to thickening shampoos and conditioners volume adding mousses and hairsprays can add thickness and volume at the root upwards and allow you to style your hair in any way that suits you. Blow drying is not recommended for thinning hair as it can damage hair and give the result and impression of even thinner hair.
Choosing the right kind of hair cut for thinning hair can make a big difference in making it look thickener and fuller. Usually shorter hair looks thicker, so to add the perceived appearance of hair that is denser and shorter cut is recommended by many hairstylists and hairdressers. For women a bob cut can make thinning hair appear thickener with more bounce and volume. For men a crew type cut can not only make thinning hair look thicker but more controlled. It is not advisable for men with thinning hair to grow it long and attempt the dreaded ‘comb over’. Trying to disguise receding hairlines and thinning hair by covering it with more thinning hair often will bring more attention to it.
Thickening hair by use of hair extensions can damage it by adding weight to what is already a potentially weakened hair root and follicle. The long run result of using extensions can be even further, accelerated thinning of the hair.
To get immediate thickening, cosmetically, hair thickening sprays, fibers and lotions might be the answer for some. These are are cosmetic in nature and are basically make ups and won’t actually biologically thicken hair but can cosmetically make it appear much thicker and fuller with more density. Certain lotions and sprays attempt to minimize the difference between the scalp and hair color so that the scalp is less visible. For example if one has thinning black hair and a light scalp a darker lotion might be applied to the hair so that the scalp color is less visible. Other sprays and fibers attempt to thicken hair in a similar fashion to mascara thickening eye lashes. Some products are very effective and make the hair seem thicker even close up.
The ingredients that these and any other kind of hair thickening products have in them should be taken into account and carefully thought about by anyone trying these products as they could potentially cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Lastly, wigs and hair pieces might be an option for some wishing to have thicker hair.
