Homemade Dry Skin Recipes

Home remedies for dry skin are much sought after these days because people are fed up with toxic chemicals in our skin care products. Many cheap commercial drug-store type moisturizers are loaded with fragrances, additives, and mineral oil – all which destroy the skin’s pH balance. Healthy skin should have a pH that ranges from 4.2 to 6.5. A pH balance higher or lower than this can upset the acid mantle which is the protective skin barrier protecting the skin from environmental elements like bacteria, wind, dehydration, etc.

Why do we need a moisturizer? Well, in addition to keeping the skin hydrated, a good moisturizer can prevent dry skin conditions from getting worse and turning into psoriasis or an infected dry itchy skin rash. If you have itchy dry skin or rash problems, it’s important to start taking care of your skin right away and begin using a good quality moisturizer before matters get worse.

So what are one of the best home remedies for dry skin? Try a weekly egg yolk and honey mask. This mask feels incredible and skin will be so soft after you rinse. Here is how you make it:

- whisk 2 egg yolks then add 1 tablespoon of honey and mix well.
- massage the mixture all over the face and neck and leave on for 25 minutes.
- this might drip, so you may want to lie and just rest for a while until it starts to dry.
- then rinse well and apply a good facial moisturizer for dry skin.

Olive oil is another great moisturizer for dry itchy skin rash. This one is simple, just apply about 3 tablespoons of olive oil all over your face and neck right after washing your face, while it’s still damp. This can be a bit mess, so I like to use it at night before going to bed.

For daytime use, I prefer to use a botanical water-proof moisturizer because it provides hours of continuous hydration and prevents my skin from flaking and peeling. For best results your daytime moisturizer should have an effective delivery system using lyphazome technology . Research shows this type of moisturizer can penetrate the skin much more deeply so you really get the best results.

What are Lyphazome? They are natural nanospheres which are only 1/50th the size of human skin cells, so they can penetrate the epidermis deeply, delivering ingredients deep into the skin layers, where it is most effective. Also, nanospheres are highly concentrated so they can deliver at least 80% of the bioactive- and moisture-loaded ingredient into the skin.

If you suffer from dry skin and you’re not using a moisturizer that uses Lyphazome technology.well you’re just wasting your money.
