Vanity is a crime every human being is guilty of. In fact, cosmetics rank as one of the highest expenses of both males and females all over the world. But the benefits are truly great. You get to remove shyness within your system and the more you are confident to talk and deal with people.

Spider veins, however, can take that away from you. Not only will you be able to wear your skimpy shorts and skirts or get rid of concealers, you will always have to think of what other people are going to say about those red ugly lines on your legs.

If you are looking for the ultimate cause of spider veins, then you are going to end up with zilch. Until now nobody can give you a straight answer to that. But then again, perhaps it will make things a little bit easier for you to know that there are a couple of factors that may lead to spider veins:

1. Genetics. Perhaps men will heave a little sigh of relief to know that women tend to develop spider veins more than them. What’s more, if they have any ancestors who are suffering with the same condition, they are more likely to acquire it. Based on studies, weak valves can be acquired. These too can be your basis as to what age you can probably develop one or that if you are prone to spider veins.

2. Hormonal changes. It’s common for women to undergo hormonal changes, and there are several reasons for that. However, what you may not know is that it be a cause of spider veins. Just take pregnancy, for example. In order to provide blood circulation to the fetus, you body also needs to increase the volume of blood. This pressure, though, can weaken your vein walls, causing spider veins.

3. Injuries. Probably you’ve noticed that there are certain bruises that do not seem to go away. This might be spider vein matting. This happens when the body is undergoing a processing of healing because of injuries. This can also be attributed to sclerotherapy.

4. Feet and leg pressure. Every time you put too much pressure on your legs and feet, you are prone to develop those ugly spider veins. Constant standing or constant sitting can impede the proper circulation of the blood from the legs to the entire parts of the body and vice versa.

Scary as it may seem, however, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have any solution to the cause of spider veins. Exercise, proper diet, wearing of leg hose, and even surgical treatments are the tried-and-tested solution to this cosmetic dilemma.
