What You Need To Know About Cosmetic Surgery Prices
Posted on 30. Dec, 2009 by Sharon Lee.
The cost of cosmetic surgery procedures varies widely between individuals on a case by case basis. This is due to the number charges that make up the final cost as well as the numerous factors that influence the price of each itemized charge of the overall bill. But understanding the things that influence cost can allow a person to better estimate and control how much they spend on a plastic surgery procedure.
One of the biggest factors is the area of the body to be treated. A larger area will obviously cost more than a smaller area and the price differences are all relative to the person. Other factors including the composition of the material in that particular area of the body influence the costs of that area as well. Most patients who ask for an estimate will receive the surgeons’ average charge for a particular area of the body.
The cost per area of the body is all relative to the other factors that play a role in determining the final cost of the procedure. One that is controllable to some extent is the geographical location of the clinic. Since what a surgeon can charge is based on the surrounding area and the cosmetic surgery market of the region, a patient willing to commute to another region could benefit from the price differences as commanded by the different markets.
A surgeon’s skill and experience is one factor that no one should compromise when shopping for a surgeon. Any lesser skilled, experienced, or qualified surgeon will advertise ridiculously lower rates to draw clients but this comes at an increased risk of side effects resulting from poor procedural practice.
An equally skilled surgeon can be found for a cheaper rate outside a geographical region that is higher priced but this is not a reason to settle for a lesser qualified or experienced surgeon. An under qualified or poorly experienced surgeon can greatly increase the risk of the procedure.
There are many factors that influence the cost of cosmetic surgery and it is important for the individual to shop around to learn about their options. Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is the first step to enjoying the benefits of any procedure in question.

Practical Tips On Growing Taller Naturally
Posted on 30. Dec, 2009 by Anthony Santiago.
When you have had enough of being short, there are things you can still do. Even if you think you have done everything you possibly can, read on and see some more tips to help you grow taller naturally. Not only will you get the benefit of looking taller, it will improve your overall health as well.
First, in order to understand how these tips are relevant in growing taller naturally, it’s essential to know how our bodies and bones grow in the first place. Did you know that you had more bones when you were a baby than you do now? It’s true! As an infant, some of our bones consist of a substance called cartilage. As we grow older, this cartilage fuses and ossifies into solid bone. During our adolescence, this process is still going on. Growth plates located at the ends of our long bones are still gradually stretching and lengthening, which contributes greatly in the growth spurts we experience.
However, don’t believe any advertisement you see or hear that claims to sell certain exercises that lengthen and stretch your bones. Bones simply don’t work that way. Once they’ve stopped growing, nothing will make them grow again. Any organization that claims this is trying to cheat you out of your money. Additionally, avoid scams that boast hormone supplements or vitamin supplements that claim to make you taller. These simply don’t work.
Take note though that exercises can only help during the time when one experiences growth spurts in the younger years. So, don’t think that these exercises will be of no use. These will help in making you grow faster–that is it. But after your bones have finished growing, these exercises will be of little use, aside from making you look more slender and leaner. Having more muscles will also make you more confident.
If you really want to get that edge to look taller, you can always choose height enhancing clothing so that you will get the results you want. To make your legs and arms look taller, you can also wear pinstripes or dark colored clothing for better effect. Don’t forget the shoes–the use of boots will give you that needed inches. Also, don’t forget that proper posture will also make a difference. And note that this will also be good for your back and neck as well.

Beauty is as Beauty Does
Posted on 30. Dec, 2009 by Jasmine Jensen.
Beauty, though quite abstract, has been highly sought after by women for decades. Looking pretty has been seen as a vehicle to happiness throughout time. Most of the women who are considered icons of the past are mostly remembered for their faces. Cleopatra, Marie Antoinette and Marilyn Monroe, are to name but a few.
Although, women have always wanted to be pretty, ideas about good looks have changed over time. In Victorian England it was considered a thing of beauty to have milky light skin that would be considered too pale by today’s standards. Ladies preserved their glowing skin by staying out of the sun and limiting the time they went out. Only the working class who toiled in all weathers had ‘ruddy’ skin which today might be described as a tan.
Today, the modern counterparts of these women crave the sun as the sun-kissed look is now considered attractive. There is a huge business in tanning lotions for sunbathing and there is also a huge rise in tanning studios for when there is no sun to bathe in.
European ideals of beauty became Western ideals and very quickly got tied up with race and natural complexion. Black women were in the unenviable position of never being able to match up to the beauty standards. They would bleach their skins in order to look a little more white and a little more beautiful. The ‘black beauty’ movement of the 1970’s challenged the pervading beauty norm and went a long way in changing the African-American concept of themselves and their beauty.
Today, we celebrate the looks of people from all over the world. Some of the world’s top models including Tyra Banks, Iman and Naomi Campbell are black women. The first African-American First lady is Michelle Obama who is also noted for her beauty. Beauty is no longer associated with skin colour (except if it is too white) but more to do with blemish free and young looking skin. Teeth have to be pearly white, eyebrows have to be high and shaped and makeup should be present but natural looking.
Weight has long since been very tied up with a woman’s looks. It is not acceptable to be seen as over weight in Western society and this has been the case since the days of corseted dresses. Women were bound up in these contraptions in order to look thinner. Today the dieting products and services are a multi-billion dollar industry as women seek weight loss in an effort to look slimmer and more beautiful.
Fashion goes hand in hand with concepts of beauty. The corseted and bustled dresses were designed to give an impression of voluptuousness contained in slimness. In the 1960’s mini skirts were designed to accentuate a woman’s slender legs while modern designs emphasize flat stomachs.
Age seems to have everything to do with the modern concept of beauty. In order to be appealing you must look younger. This is one of the hardest things to keep up with for the beauty conscious individual. There are literally thousands of anti-aging skin care products that claim to help women restore their lost beauty through rejuvenation of young looking skin. Most simply don’t work while others are marginally more effective. For ladies for whom being cute is everything, there is always the cosmetic surgery option.
Become a pro when it comes to wedding and bridal makeup. Perfect if you’re a makeup artist in training.

Astral Project Yourself To Another Dimension
Posted on 30. Dec, 2009 by John Pereira.
We are all born with the ability to astral project. Practice is the only reason some astral project and some do not. It is an ancient art and has been practiced for centuries deserving the same respect as yoga or meditation. Astral projection is known by different names and types. There are many different techniques to achieve astral projection.
Lucid dreaming is a form of astral projection. Lucid dreaming refers to the state of being aware that you are dreaming. Once you are aware that you are dreaming you can do anything you want in the dream. It is very easy to astral project when you are lucid dreaming. As soon as you realize you are dreaming you need to consciously say to yourself ‘I am dreaming.’
You can do anything you want once you wake up in your dream. This may be a little too random for beginners to be successful enough to astral project.
You need to believe that astral projection does work and is a reality. You have already experienced it but you do not realize it. Have you ever remembered a dream vividly upon awakening? The memory is so vivid that it feels as though you actually experienced it. This indicates you had an astral projection.
The key element to astral projection is to know that you can do it. This will help erase any fears or doubts that you may have that could be keeping you from being able to astral project.
Learn some good meditation and relaxation techniques; these will make it easier for you to astral project. Meditation will get your mind and body ready for the experience of astral projection. Start practicing relaxation and meditation routines you like to get prepared.
All you have to do is get relaxed in your favorite chair at a time when you will have no distractions. Clear your head of everything that is flowing through it. Do not focus on any problems you are having. Center your thoughts on your breathing, breath slow and deep. Picture your problems and stresses flowing out with each breath. This is very effective in achieving the deep state of relaxation needed to astral project.
You now need to go deeper into a state of altered consciousness. Just think about your breathing as you are now without worry or stress. Your mind is clear, you are taking deep breathes. Focus on breathing in through the nose and letting the airflow out through your mouth. You are breathing slower and deeper and getting more relaxed, now focus on relaxing your body.
Start with your toes, as they are the most remote part of your body. There are two ways to do this. You can simply tell each part of your body to relax or tense the muscles up first and then relax each part. Tell each part of your body to relax as you move up. Use the method that you are most comfortable with.
You will begin to feel heavy, as if all your energy and stress is going away as you relax each part of your body. You will notice when this happens. Once this occurs in your entire body, you are ready to move on to the next step in astral projection.
You may feel like sleeping at this time, you need to avoid this. Many recommend repeating a command such as ‘I can fly, I can fly.’ You can say anything you want, just try to come up with something that will keep you from slipping into sleep.
Your mind may want to drift off and cause thoughts to start flowing through it. You do not want this to happen. You need to keep your focus on a phrase to keep these thoughts out. You will have to end the session and start over if you lose your focus.
Now, there are a couple of methods that can be employed to reach altered consciousness. You can use your repetitive statement to reach the altered state of consciousness. You can also use the body of light method, which is where you envision a body of light that you are going to see yourself transform into.
You will experience three separate feelings when your astral body is projecting. You will have the sensation that you are moving. You will see lights and colors before your eyes even though they are closed. At this point, your astral body is going into the astral world. You will hear voices. These voices will warn you to stop or tell you to go ahead. You will know you have been successful in astral projection when you get to this stage.

Why All the Fuss Over Color Depositing Shampoo?
Posted on 30. Dec, 2009 by Suzan K Bishop.
You color your hair, right? And like most you likely love what the color does for your hair but not have what you have to do to get the affect? You know the regular touch up thing? Not to mention color fade.
Heading back to see your stylist, you pick the frequency, to address color concerns is not only costly but it’s downright inconvenient too. But say there was a way to avoid all that and still keep your hair color looking it’s best? You know, without the need to see your stylist to make that happen.
Well, your wish has just come true with color depositing shampoos that pretty much come in every shade of color you can imagine.
How does it help and what is color depositing shampoo anyway? Fair question.
It’s a product that can help you maintain and protect color treated hair. This product is designed to avoid the color fading you notice when using regular shampoos. As well it’s a way to impart rich tones too.
Now to extend the life of your color and avoid annoying fade select a color depositing shampoo that best matches the color of your hair. This is a great way to extend the life of highlights, streaks or color treated hair as these shampoos are gentle so as to avoid stripping off any color.
And for how to use it, not much to it really. Just use like you would any other shampoo.
Just so you realize any color enhancement is going to be fleeting at best. Think of it like mixing some temporary coloring into your regular shampoo. Doing that would deposit color on your strands not getting penetration into the cuticle. This way no damage can be done. But nothing permanent has changed either.
When considering which brand to buy the choices are familiar. Drugstore verses salon labels. Some will tell you that you may find the store bought products are harder on your hair. Or not. For sure like most salon products, you should expect to pay more for supposedly better quality. That and the fact you’re using less may mean the salon bottle lasts longer, I don’t know.
With all the advantages are there any drawbacks? Well, as you’d expect like all products these too have their limitations.
For example these shampoos may not lather up as much as you’d like. Which is due in large part to what is or isn’t on the ingredient list.
Obviously these products shouldn’t be confused with miracle workers in that they can’t offset a coloring treatment gone bad.
You will need to be careful as given this is a color depositing type product you’re apt to stain the ceiling, towels, or the little rug you’ve got outside your shower if you’re not.
Also those with hair that is damaged, permed or chemically straightened may find their locks may take on more color than otherwise.
Now it pays to study the color charts to make sure you’re getting the product that’s right for your hair color before deciding.
Also some find that highlighted hair or with light colored hair it works best to mix a small amount of the product into your regular shampoo. And wash you normally would.
Then too, as an alternative you might use a clear glaze to keep your color looking fresher longer. Not to mention what such glazes will do for the shine too.
In any case now you’ve got an alternative to consider to help maintain that just from the salon color.
